Control Solution in 3 Simple Steps

  Step 1

Shake the control solution and wipe the tip with a tissue. Identify the type of control solution(different for each brand, in this example, it's 1 or 2) as indicated on the bottle.
  Step 2

Identify the control solution range for the type of control solution you have(different for each brand, in this example Level 1 or Level 2).
  Step 3

Test the control solution as if it were a drop of blood. Compare the results to your control solution range. If the result falls within the range, then your test is successful and your meter is consistent, if not, see the tips below.

If your control solution test indicates inconsistency please consider the following:

1. Ensure the strips are not out of date.

2. Wipe the tip of the control solution bottle with a tissue.

3. Ensure that the control solution and the test strips used have not been left with their caps off.

4. Ensure that the strip was not out of the container for an extended period of time.

5. Ensure that the control solution and the strips were stored in a cool, dry place.

6. Ensure that you properly identify your control solution type.

7. If you meter is a coding meter, ensure that it is coded correctly.

8. If your control solution test is not reading within the correct range, please call us at 888-571-3533 for a replacement meter.
