Diet rich in good fats like polyunsaturated fat and monounsaturated fat can be taken as they will help in lowering cholesterol levels. Nutritious foods like nuts, avocado and olive oil can be taken by these patients along with any recommended foods recommended by their doctors.

Of course, fruits and vegetables can be included in the diet and these patients should also know when to eat. To maintain healthy blood sugar levels they should eat at the right times and four or more smaller meals. Rather than taking two or three heavy meals per day, it can be split into several smaller meals. Generally, diabetic patients will feel hungry quickly and so they should keep some fruits and vegetables handy to satiate their hunger pangs then and there, rather than having heavy meals, which will become hard to digest.
